Do you know how old Citylife is?

This was our first letter: I hear you’re going to get a local newsletter started again. I wish you good luck.

We almost forgot ourselves as we came across our first editions (when we were sexily called The Chiang Mai Newsletter) recently.

We will keep posting these golden oldies so you can join us on a stroll down memory lane. The first edition, published in March 1992, had some advertisers which will still be familiar to you today: The Pub, Parker’s Manit Travel, Northern Farm Products and A.U.A!

This was our first letter: I hear you’re going to get a local newsletter started again. I wish you good luck. I hope you’ll give us the standard features we’ve been missing since About Chiang Mai went down the tube – club, church, movie news and so on. And there’s one feature I’d really welcome, and I’m sure others would too. Borders are opening up all around Thailand, and travel to Laos, Cambodia, Burma, Vietnam and South China – Yunnan especially – is getting easier.

Could you keep us up to date on visa requirements, crossing places, economical travel methods and the like? The info is available; the difficulty is finding it. Lee Watson
