First time in Chiang Mai Nawarat Bridge will turn green

By | Tue 16 Mar 2021

March 17th for the first time in Chiang Mai Nawarat Bridge will turn green.

As a symbol of friendship between Ireland and all people across the world, this is a Global Greening initiative in partnership with the Embassy of Ireland in Thailand and the office of the governor of Chiang Mai.

Nawarat Bridge joins other icons in being lit up in green, such as the Sydney Opera House, Wat Arun, the Eiffel Tower, Niagara Falls, the Great Wall of China, the Thailand Cultural Centre, the Leaning Tower of Pisa, amongst hundreds of others.

After taking some pretty pictures of the temporarily-Irish bridge, why not pop over to the UN Irish Pub for a celebratory pint – The Ramblers are on at 6pm and your favourite Irish and Celtic Band The Itinerants at 7.30pm. Also 10% off all menu items from 5 pm to 7 pm – further info call 053-214-554 unirishpub@outlook.com  www.unirishpubchiangmai.com.

Wishbeer on Nimman soi 5 is also putting on an Irish shindig with a special green beer for the event, starting from 5pm til midnight. E-mail: chiangmai@wishbeer.com Tel: 052 005 708.

March 17th Speed Friending- Nomad girls lunch edition at Free Bird Café Sirimangkalajarn Soi 9 – 12 noon until 2pm.

Speed-friending is just like speed dating, but instead of the pressure to find a new lover, it’s all about making friends with people who are in the same city as you! Take the pressure out of soulmates, by finding platonic mates. https://www.facebook.com/events/427345148568039
