Embrace Studio

Embrace Studio
Starting with a street dance group called Embrace Cluster, Mike, the owner of Embrace Studio, and his team soon started turning heads as one of the best street dancing groups in Thailand. Reaching the finals of Thailand Dance Now on Channel 3 in 2013, the semi-finals of Thailand’s Got Talent in 2014 and coming first in the Gatsby Dance Competition in 2015 and representing Thailand in the Asian finals in Japan, there is no doubt about the skills Embrace Cluster have that are now being passed to a new generation of street dancers in Chiang Mai. Children as young as seven are invited to join the team and learn all about hip hop dancing, popping, house, b-boy and krump through the UDO Street Dance Syllabus from the UK. From beginner to advanced, all who are keen to dance are welcome. A great new hobby to get into for both girls and boys which could even see them on Thailand’s Got Talent if they are lucky! Citylife readers get their first trial lesson for free if they show this magazine!

Open 1pm – 8pm (Weekends open 9.30am)

Sub Zero
Nope, this is not something to do with the famous video game character, but Chiang Mai’s one and only ice skating rink located in our lovely air–conditioned Central Festival. Children from three years old all the way to adults are invited to come and have a skate any day of the week at just 250 baht (300 baht at weekends) for one and a half hours of fun. A great place to enjoy with your friend or get down to some more serious activities such as ice hockey and figure skating. They even have courses for ages 10 and up for those looking to get professional! At the end of June, look out for the Figure Skating Championships – a show expected to bring the crowds with some of the best figure skaters in Thailand. Also look out for an ice hockey event in August. For those unsure if ice hockey is for them, why not check out the Sunday morning walk-in hockey session open for all to give it a go before committing to a full course.

Open 11am – 10pm (Weekends open 10am)
