By | Fri 4 Mar 2022

This past weekend many visitors and locals who attended the Re-Awakenings III hosted by Yard and Inferno Productions were able to let loose and escape the typical scene of the Chiang Mai night life.

The music festival was on February 25th and 26th located at the Chiang Mai River Beach Club with up to 20 DJs and 10 bands. With Inferno Productions playing music on Friday while Mustache Takeover and Dirty Rabbit played on Saturday.

This event was a Covid charity event and in order to enter everyone had to take an Antigen Covid-19 test and be negative to make sure everyone is healthy to party. Upon entry, cash could be changed for vouchers to use at the bars, stalls, etc. For those who bought the VIP tickets, they were handed face masks, fans, badges, and a special VIP zone at the entrance.

There was plenty of space including a birdcage stage, a treehouse stage, and a sandy beach with lounge bean bags and tables to relax and socialize. For those who enjoy the outdoors, there was also a campsite available to stay overnight.

The festival held many other activities besides music including a car show, food stalls, flea market, and art exhibition. There were various tents filled with all sorts of clothes, jewelry, candles, etc. to buy for yourself or your loved ones.

At night the main birdcage with a bamboo hut appearance was lit up with illustrations and moving stage lights for the audience to enjoy. There was also a massive swirling tent with haystacks to sit next to the stage if you needed a break. The audience was also able to admire a fire show in the middle of the dance floor and from up above on a pole by Nathon Ting Tong. With some brave volunteers getting to stand in the middle while fire swirls around them.

While in the treehouse stage, there were 2 floors filled with a tree in the middle of the room, flashing lights and black lights to make those wearing white glow. On the top floor, there were various trippy pieces of art that seemed to glow and pop out with the black light.

If you are a music or art junky or looking for a good time make sure you and your friends don’t miss out on the next big event!
